Applied as a two layer coating, with or without a primer.
For metal boats, the inner layer may be a primer layer.
May be brushed on, rolled on, or sprayed on.
The outer layer initially repels the biofouling organism.
The inner layer eliminates any remaining biofouling organism.
The two layers together prevent biofouling damage to the hull.
5 to 10 year operational life.
